Limitless undying love, which shines around me like a million suns

Hey hey. Sorry for this lack of posting... (isn't it awful that I am apologizing for this everytime?!) So. This is a collage I made. It's actually about everything I love and could not live without. I think you know that I love those stuff if you are a follower, but here's why and what exactly.
I love....
the Outer Space. It's incredibly beautiful, and I mean, neverending. Neverending beauty. Full of plasmas, unknown planets and stars, it's the best thing on earth ever. All those secrets waiting there, every star (There are approximately 20000000000000000000000 stars! Get this! ) and all those alien dudes. There is nothing better than Outer Space. In my dreams, I open my window above my bed and all I see is the Outer Space.
For the crew of the USS Enterprise, this dream came true. It's beyond amazing what they are doing everyday: " Space: The final frontier. These are the voyages of the starship Enterprise. Its five-year-mission: to explore strange worlds, to seek out new life and new civilizations, to boldly go where no man has gone before. " My favorite character is Mr. Spock, from Vulcan. He was the first Vulcan to ever join the Starfleet, and he turned out as an amazing Captain and friend of James T. Kirk. Being super bright, he is also totally funny and ironic. Just have a look at his ears, isn't he adorable?
Done with Outer Space stuff in my universe, I think it's time for Rookie now. Rookie, as weird as it may sound, actually changed my life. I wouldn't be the same without this magazine. It definitely made me more self-confident and stronger, I learned to ignore haters and to do what I want without caring about the thoughts of others. This will never change again. Besides that, Rookie also influenced my style. I think it's so hard to define my style, and I actually don't want my style to be defined. . But "Rookie Style" is a definition I love and it means more to me than just clothing. I love the community of Rookies in the blogosphere.
The person who introduced me to Rookie was Tavi. I had been reading Tavi's blog a few times and when I saw that she published her own magazine, I was totally in awe. Tavi is also the person who introduced me to Blogging. She showed me so many things and stuff, I deeply admire her for what she is, what she achieved. And I admire her for being herself. She's truly one of the best teens ever. I never knew what to say when I was asked for my "role model", but since I am knowing Rookie and her, I know she's my role model. I also made a zine for her. Gosh please do not think I am a creepy stalker, I do not have thousands of pictures of her hanging around and I am not dreaming of her (yet... haha.).
I also love love love Blogging. It may sound obvious, but I truly do. It's so much fun sharing your thoughts with the world, and I love all my followers (hey you!) and I also made some amazing friends. I swapped zines with Carla from Redpunzel and I'll send Flower's Zine at thursday (I promise. Life's been so busy. School sucks.). I also sent a flower crown to Maddie. I've got to know the most awesome people since I am blogging, and some of my friends are stalking my blog and they admire what I am doing, and I love what I am doing. I cannot understand how people "hate" my blog because, when they don't like it (or me), why the hell do they even look at it? Whatever, blogging is amazing and I hope when I am a grandma with three kittens and a donkey, I am still able to do it.
Something closely related to my blog is fashion, obviously. I go nuts for Meadham Kirchhoff or Doc Martens (see last post). Fashion is just my way to express who I am and who I want to be. Let's save this stuff for a blogging anniversary. But I go nuts for fashion, and I mean it.
See what's left. Woodstock, glittered shoes, black lips ( I wrote about them earlier, you know, they are witchy and amazing.) , unicorns, David Bowie and Led Zeppelin. Which is *obviously* perfect. Let's start with the music stuff. Led Zeppelin and David Bowie - no better music in our galaxy (I wonder what music Spock would like...). David Bowie is such an amazing and inspiring man, he was never afraid of doing something that would seem weird. He just gives a fuck and rocks the stage. He's immortal. And kinda hot, by the way. Led Zeppelin is (as David Bowie) just too awesome to describe. "Stairway to heaven" is, in my opinion, the best song ever. It's just pure beauty.
Another amazing kind of music is Reggae (good Vibrations...). I wish wish wish I would be living in the Sixties and Seventies - it seems like the perfect time to me. Full of petticoats and this peace movement dudes, known as "Hippies". Just, they didn't care if it was raining or stuff, they just partied all day long and were hanging around being stoned, wearing daisies in their hair and living life. It must have been like seeing the center of the universe, full of beauty, something which can't be described.
What I love, too, is Glitter. It's just literally the best thing ever! It's magical!
And so are unicorns. They do exist, maybe in a left valley in the Himalaya mountains full of purple flowers and a lake to clear for this planet. And one day I will ride a unicorn and it will be my best friend. And it will glitter because everything perfect glitters!

Wow. I wrote way too much. And I am not even done yet. Some daily life: We adopted a little incredibly cute hamster! My Dad found it at the waste dump because someone really awful threw him away! He's a little bit sick, but he's eating and he's fluffy and his name is George. Such a Cutie!

Hope you had an amazing day,

Mary

Who shines white light and wants to show how everything still turns to gold.

Isn't this one totally awesome? I DIYed it today and I am so proud of it! I had this in my mind for two months, but I just never found the time. Finally, I made it today, and I am kinda proud! It's one of my favourite pieces now. I was very inspirated by the Rookie Style Nationwide, in Picture 41 there's a girl with the same one, and I was really fascinated by this picture!

Ah I ordered this dress a few days ago, and it arrived really soon after ordering it. I didn't expect it to arrive so quickly, so I was really surprised (I actually screamed out loud.) It's like super tight and I have to admit, I look kinda amazing wearing it...

Eep! I made a Led Zeppelin shirt! I have been a fan of Led Zeppelin since I first heard "Stairway to heaven". I love this tee - I used a transfer printer foil or something and it turned out amazing! The colors are wonderful and Led Zeppelin rocks the world.

A super fun Michael Schumacher shirt ( he's a Formula 1 guy, and some of the best one's ever. Kind of a german hero, or so.) I got it for fifty cents at our local thrift store.

Hey dudes. These are just some things I bought or made the past few days. I am really busy this week, so sorry for this lack of posting. I hope everything's okay with you guys!

Love,

Mary

Obsession (and Trend spotting): Religious Prints

Ah yeah. This one's a difficult topic. I discussed it with my mum about two hours. Like, how can people wear religious stuff when they aren't believing in God or whoever? And I was like, how can people wear clothes if they aren't into fashion?
I love Statement tees, but only because I am wearing a tee with Buddha or whoever printed on, do I really have to believe in him? The thing is, this kind of print is not meant as a Statement (it can be, of course.). People are wearing it because it looks good, and they do not wanna tell anything with this top (besides being supercool.) . I hope you get what I mean.

Anyways, those prints are amazing. They can be kitsch and sassy at the same time!
The most common trend is cross print now - but there are many more ways of religious prints! Cross print is super cool, by the way. I also love Buddha or Shiva prints! Or *totally* kitschy Mother Mary prints.

Tee - Amazon
Dress - Motel
Creepers - Topshop

Everything from Topshop (Dress, Skirt, Jacket, Tee)
Shoes - Doc Martens

This one is full of cross prints. Wear the glitter top over the ruffled dress with the Biker Jacket to create a "breaking" look.

Maxi Skirt - Topshop
Skater skirt - Topshop
Over knee socks - Topshop
Mother Mary Sweater - Asos
Wedges - Asos

What do you think about religious prints? Do you own some pieces with those prints?

Love, Mary

Chewing chewing chewing

Hey lovelies. Like so many times, Rookie made my day. They introduced me to Kyary Pamyu Pamyu which is SO AMAZING. As halloween's coming soon, her creepy style is so inspirational. Her style is really kawaii, a mix of girly, cute and creepy stuff - everything I love! Could it be even better?
She started her carrier as a fashion blogger (like us) and is now a singer and a model. She had so may different hair colors, hair styles and she rocked every look. Kyara is so amazing and colourful!
She was my inspiration for day's outfit. The Dr. Martens are missing, I know. I really need to get a pair of them!

Crown - DIYed
Collar - thrifted
Tulle skirt - DIYed
Book Bag - DIYed
goggly eyes tights - DIYed

Sorry for my super stupid face. (Remember the Lightnight I talked about last time? A super stupid lil' boy hit me with a snow ball right in my face. On my eye. And now it's red and swollen and I look so weird... Besides that, the Lightnight was super awesome. I met so many amazing people and we had so much fun. If one of you is reading this, thank you for this awesome time.)
I actually made a behive and it looked so cool, but you cannot see it. Also, this collage is sorta ugly, but I am so tired and not really motivated.
I wore my goggly eyes tights because I think they add a creepy touch to the whole thing, and I don't have shoes for this outfit but whatever.
I put together an outfit inspired of her...

Shoes - Dr. Martens
Watch - Asos
Tulle skirt - Etsy
bow- Etsy
Tee - Asos
Blouse - Oasap

I need Dr. Martens. Right. Now.

So, how was your weekend? What do you think about Kyara Pamyu Pamyu?

Hope your weekend was amazing,

Mary

Obsession: Tulle

images found on rookie and tumblr, collaged by me

Tulle is awesome. I forgot about my love for tulle for a long time, but when Rookie's monthly issue was "Drama" recently, I immediately thought of tulle and searched everywhere for my tulle skirt ( it unfortunately isn't as beautiful as I thought it was, but hey, it's still tulle and awesome! ) and finally found it. Tulle is pure Drama, Girlyness, and Beauty. It is oh-so-fluffy.
Tulle really reminds me of candy! Everytime I see a tulle skirt, I think of so many awesome ways to combine it - Candy necklaces, candy bracelets, my Alice-in-Wonderland-ring from last post, pastel-colored tights... Marshmellow-colored tulle, pink tulle, mint tulle. I want Candy! When I am wearing something tulle, I feel magical. Somehow... like a magician, a unicorn, like a marshmellow (oh wow. That was weird. Whatever...). It just feels good! And really Rookie-esque. Marlena wrote an awesome tutorial on how to make your own tulle skirt and it's so easy and totally awesome. She combined her skirt with a skeleton top. Did you hear me skeleton top. Thus, there are two ways (which I know) to combine a tulle skirt (or dress.)
  • Candy and girly and fluffy
  • Witchy and badass
Witchy and badass means, like, biker boots or Dr. Martens with tulle, Vintage Harley Davidson tees (seriously, Vintage Harley Davidson tees are the best thing ever. Search for some old ones, or a rock band fan tee, because there's nothing better. ), studs, a dog collar. I love combining stuff in a weird way - studs and lace, flowers and Dr. Martens, or tulle and badass garments! What I don't mean is black tulle, which is totally different from that (I like pastel tulle better, to be honest. (:  ) .
Anyways, tulle looks totally awesome. I put together a few outfits with tulle skirts for you, I hope you like them!

Jumper - oasap
dress - chicwish
shoes - asos
ring - topshop
bracelet - topshop

skirt - chicwish
Nirvana tee - etsy
Spiked denim jacket - topshop
skull earrings - topshop
ring - topshop
awesome shoes - Dr. Martens

( Topshop, seriously, offers the most awesome jewelery ever. )
I need those shoes - they go with everything and look more than amazing.

Dress - chicwish
Denim vest - etsy
ring - asos
Glitter skull (got that?! Glitter and skulls!) shoes  - oasap

This outfit is rather elegant. And awesome. Those shoes are so freakin' perfect! They are both glittery and studded, so what could be better?

So, how do you like those outfits? I need to get a few of those garments... I actually bough some tulle today to make a tulle skirt like Marlena's tutorial (which is so awesome!) and I am totally looking forward to this! I hope it will turn out as beautiful as hers.

Love,

Mary

Batman tights DIY

I got many comments for the Asos batman leggins yesterday, but as it unfortunately comes with a hefty price tag, I decided to DIY it. Hope you like this! Yay for batman!

1. Supplies:  Yellow tights, cardboard, a X-Acto, black paint and a batman costume for working. And a bat, of course.
2. Take your board and draw the Batman logo. Then, start to cut the bat out. You want to have a template.
3. This is the simplest but most time-consuming part: Draw the bat on your tights. I drew four ones on each leg. Five would be perfect, I guess. Instead of a pen like in the picture, spray paint or fabric paint would also work. My pen broke after the first bat, duh.

Yay done! Sorry for this bad edited picture... and the tights look actually way better than in the picture. I promise. I really do. So I hope I could help you, crazy-printed-leggins-obsessed-teens-without-fifty-pounds-left-to-spend-crowd!

Hope you had an amazing day,

Mary

PS: I feel like apologizing again for this awful picture. And welcome, my new followers! Love you! xxxx

Clouds are floating

Fall days can be categorized: There are I-don't-give-a-shit-I-hate-this-cold-weather-days, I-like-to-dress-up-days and I-feel-so-cozy-days (which are the best). Most of my days are  I-don't-give-a-shit-I-hate-this-cold-weather-days, because most of the time it is cold. And usually, I hate going to school on these days as well as choosing what to wear today. So fall is the perfect time to invest in garments which you can just throw on and you are as cozy as well as stylish.
Here's the clue: Knitwear. Knitwear, honestly, is perfect for all day in fall! It is cozy, stylish, warm and wonderful.

I made up a few outfits for your fall time.

I-don't-give-a-shit-I-hate-this-cold-weather-days

blue sweater - topshop
pink sweater - modcloth
khaki sweater -topshop
cross leggins - asos
batman leggins - asos
tights - modcloth

Leggins and sweater is the most cozy combination I can imagine. And on these days, where you actually want to stay in your pajama all day long, being cozy is the key to survive the day. So, when you have a day like these, throw on a sweater, a leggins, survive school and lay down in bed with a cup of tea.

I-like-to-dress-up-days

tights - modcloth
boots - topshop
blouse - f21
skirt - asos
sweater - asos
pants - modcloth

These are the better days of fall. You are tired of all the sweaters and leggins and want to be extremely stylish. Layering yay!  Wear the collared blouse under this awesome Dachshund sweater and combine it either with the scottish printed pants or the military skirt and those gorgeous tights from modcloth. I also love the idea of boots with tights - those grunge-y boots are pretty much perfect.

I-feel-so-cozy-days

tights - modcloth
jumper - modcloth
skirt - asos
boots - asos
hat - topshop

As mentioned earlier, these are the best days of fall. I love feeling cozy and drinking tea! The perfect fall day would look like this: Smores for breakfast, going to school (because I have to) in this stylish, cozy, awesome outfit and watching Star Trek with my boyfriend. And smores for dinner. What would you perfect fall day be?

I hope this inspired you for your upcoming fall outfits! I would love to see them!

Hope you had an amazing day!

Obsession: Studs

This isn't a normal obsession. It is like Star Trek. I am completely freaking out when I see something studded (or Star Trek). Today we went shopping (YAY!) and I went into a ZARA store, and, like, every second garment was studded. Well, I freaked out.
I know, this has been written before, and everyone who's interested in fashion knows that the grunge vibe is starring in the fashion play this fall. As much as I'm against mainstream fashion, this is a trend I love. love love love. Does anyone knows where to buy studs? I am dreaming of so many studded garments lately. Like, a studded leather jacket. Or a studded collar of a button-up. And I visited every store here hoping I will find simply studs and I wasn't successful at all. How depressing.
Anyways, I'll give you five reasons why studs are awesome. (As mentioned earlier, does anyone knows where to buy studs? )
I love them because...

1.  The grunge-y Nirvana vibe.

2. The rebellion touch of studs.

3. How versatile they are: They can look elegant as well as punk-y.

4. How easy studs can turn an old tee or jacket into something awesome.

5. They are so easy to DIY.

The same procedure as every year, Ms. Sophie?

Fall trends

I hate hate hate to admit it, but summer is almost over. The last few weeks felt like fall, anyways, but luckily, it is hot now for the rest of my summer break so I finally get the chance to wear all my dresses and shorts over and over. So, let's enjoy the sunny moments and soak up as much sun as you can. But Fall will come and you will be a stylish girl, so I summed up a few of the fall trends. Which are (in case of Marc 'o Polo and some others) basically the same as every year. Be optimistic: you can wear all the old stuff. But luckily, there are some rad, wonderful Designers and trends to lead us through fall more trendy and badass.

Colors

As every year, the fall clothes are not half as colorful as the summer ones. Blue and brown (and some red) at Marc 'o Polo and Hilfiger. The designers seemed to be a little bit sick of this, though, so they added some colors in their collections. Gold would be important. And red also, like last year. And, to add a dramatic glamour vibe, diamonds are a must! This would be the designers color story. Being a normal girl and not having just thousand dollars left to buy a Dolce & Gabbana coat, black and grey are important for fall.

Material

This maybe is the most important point this year.

1. Leather ( for a gothic vibe)

2. Tweed ( for a british vibe)

3. Silk ( for an asian vibe)

But this year, it isn't only like a silk top, a tweed shorts or a leather coat- It is a mix of every fabric. A tweed and leather biker jacket, or a silk and leather crop ( I really like that).

Studs are also a good way to make a outfit a little more badass. Summer, with all the pastel colors and ice cream, is over! (That's a trend. I will love pastel colors forever.) Beside Studs, Embroidery gets a new meaning and is no longer only made for hippies and vintage lovers, but for eccentric, extravagant baroque queens (Dolce & Gabbana).

Patterns are also important. Baroque prints or Paisley or Asian prints - the more, the better!  Sixties prints (are great and a must have. Prada and many others created real costumes, with both pants and blazers. Which brings us to...
Twin Sets! Maddie from Madalynne wrote about them and found the perfect words. They were a summer trend, too, but we just have to get the cute garments into fall fashion.

Boyish

Boyfriend style is a huge trend for quite a while now, but it changed decades this fall. It's almost always the same: Trend + Trend = New Trend. This time, the "Golden Twenties" were combined with Boyfriend style. And it looks totally awesome! That's a fall trend which I really like. I tell you why: In summer, I am very girly and wear dresses and pink all over, but when it gets colder, I almost only wear boy stuff. I've got a confession to make: I am shopping in the men's department. Their clothes are so much cozier! But only in Winter, of course.

Asos, luckily, features a whole collection of boyfriend stuff. Get it here.

Pure

Since the white collection from Acne, white is a huge trend. This fall, the pure and simple designs are also available in black. Remember: Pure means pure. Do not destroy these futuristic looks with too much jewelery.

Peplum stuff and bracelet from asos, Bomber and Coat from Topshop.

Overloading

You could already see and feel this trend in summer, but now, with the fall color story, it gets much darker. It is all about baroque queens and princesses, about embroidery and overloading. But it also got a Upgrade: The overloading scheme was transformated through a time machine right into... the Sixties! Big Sixties patterns are printed on shorts, trousers, blazers, basically everything. Prada and Dolce & Gabbana styled it perfectly.

Dress from topshop, rest from Asos.
This trend isn't made for everybody but for eccentric, stylish women. Many eyebrows will be raised when you are dressed this way but you know for sure YOU ARE THE MOST STYLISH WOMEN HERE.

I will discover more fall trends in the next months, but these are the most important for fall 2012. I hoped you liked it.

Have a wonderful day, Mary

PS: You should know that I worked three hours for this post. So please read it. :DD

Aug 16, 2012

Don't stop.

My latest obsession are socks. How can I resist. Socks are perfect for the end of summer. You can style socks like a classic School girl with a plaid skirt or dress, which certainly would look awesome. But socks also offer a more high-fashion way to wear them: Since this year socks worn in heels are no longer a no-go but a must-have trend. I really like it, especially when the socks are printed like these. So Socks all over the world, gather and struggle for fairness! No longer hidden in shoes but a awesome fashion statement! YAY!

Forever 21

While the socks from F 21 are rather funny and playful, the socks from Asos are perfect for the schoolgirl style, which is again perfect for fall. Imagine those Asos socks in Oxfords!

Have a nice day, Mary

Style inspiration: Atonement

The movie "Atonement", starring Keira Knightley, is a sad-to-cry drama with a heartbreaking romance. A young called Briony, a  a little bit big-headed girl, sees her sister, sees different situations and arranges them together to a horrible crime, which destroys her sister's relationship with her boyfriend. A simple mistake of a girl leads to two broken hearts, which never will find to each other again. Briony claims Robbie (her sister's boyfriend) of raping her sister as well as her cousin Lola, which isn't true at all. As a result, Robbie is arrested. When the second World War starts, Robbie is released from prison for joining the Army. He mets Cecilia (the bigger sister, which completly broke tie with her family ) again and they renew their love. Briony tries to apologize to Cecilia, but the bigger sister coldly answers she would never forgive her. In the Sixties, decades later, Briony, which now is an famous author, she releases her book which tells the whole story about her misunderstanding and the impact. Only the end is different: While Cecilia and Robbie died tragically in the World War without accepting Briony's apology, Briony apologises in the book and Cecilia and Robbie are reunited.
The first part of the story takes place in the 30ies in the huge house of a wealthy english family and that actually is the "style inspiration"-part of the movie.

all images from google.

In the first part of the movie, all the dresses are so awesome. When I watched the movie with my family, everybody was SO annoyed because I was like "Oh my god... Saw this dress? Wow how amazing! I want to have it! Oh yeah, and saw this one? I am freaking out! " every second minute. (I mean, the dresses aren't everything. These rooms are flowered all over! ) Ginger Lola is wearing the most amazing candy-colored frilly dress EVER. And the Outfit of Cecilia in the first scene is absolutly awesome, even the underwear. Here are a few dresses in which you can feel like a rich english girl in 1930. ( Remember: These are dresses for the first part of the movie.)

All of these dresses ( exept the first one from here) are from Ruche.

Have a wonderful rest of the day,

Mary

Trend spotting: psychedelic

Why not try an "old" trend? Psychedelic prints were popular in the 90ies and in the early 2000s, and they got a revival in men's fashion this year. But unfortunately, tie dye prints weren't mentioned often enough. Tie dye prints feature a nice psychedelic vibe, but also a hippie vibe as they are very colorful. Tie Dye tops can be styled very easily with black leggins or jeans, but remember to put an accent on your shoes. I especially like trainers with these prints (and my ASOS flatforms, available here). The print top would loose some of its magic with just Ked's thrown on, I think. Magic is just the perfect description for Tie Dye tops :D Tie Dye shorts are basically the same thing: Style them with a simple black top ( maybe tied? ) and eye-catching golden jewelery. Eye-catching golden jewelery. That's important.

3. Asos

have a nice day :)

xoxo, Mary
